Collegiate of Santa Maria

The Collegiate of &auto Maria of Matterella, deriving from the XIV century, presents its Romanian architecture with the polygon shaped apse: the front like a but with three doors of which the middle door is decorated in a fanlight with a depict by Orlando Merlini from 1493. The building is next to another bell tower. Inside, recently the collegiate has been renovated, an historical pavement was found. This pavement shows noble pantheons with each the armorial bearing engraved. The church with three aisles, divided by six pillars connected in blocks, gather into a presbytery with the half-round apse where in the centre a beautiful table 4 located representing the Virgin Mary with Child in Byzantine style from the XVI century.
